Workforce Trainer ~ Full time position – 40 hours per week

We have a vacancy for a Trainer working remotely in the Whangarei Area commencing as soon as possible. The position is full-time - Monday to Friday (no weekends / shift work / Public Holidays), but flexibility may be needed at times.  The successful applicant will work with our Whangarei team covering the training needs for HSN providing training and support in the Mid and Far North as required.

Ideally you will have an Adult teaching qualification or other experience in development and training of workforce employees in NZ Health & Wellbeing (NZ Cert L2, L3 and L4). Assessor Unit Std 4098, Skills and experience in community support, with a friendly nature and a genuine passion in helping to empower employees to deliver quality, safe support to our Clients in the Community who are elderly, disabled and ACC /rehabilitation supported.


This varied and interesting role requires :-

  • Presentation of units to a group of employees, assessment of competency and understanding as well as verification of ability to put into practice
  • Online registering of units and progress reports
  • Delivery of in-house training - Manual Handling and safe use of equipment, Orientation training and refresher training
  • Funding applications need to be timely and completed online
  • Good time management with ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent work ethic and professionalism
  • Strong team player with sound communication skills
  • Computer competency, literacy and accuracy
  • Legal eligibility to work in NZ long term
  • Guidance and Mentoring of Support Workers
  • Networking with Allied Health and other Community agencies
  • Flexibility for attendance at trainings or for work demands
  • Ability and confidence to work unsupervised
  • Loyalty and adherence to organisations vision and policies
  • Great customer service skills
  • Clean driving record – travelling to other areas / venues a requirement

Orientation and training will be provided for a smooth transition into the role.
